Recent members' news

Julia Chayko recently published two short stories, and has developed a blog called The Old Lady in My Bones, about living with arthritis.

Electronic publishing rights to the anthology Like Water for Quarks (MVP Publishing, Elton Elliott and Bruce Taylor, eds.,) which includes Mary E. Choo's story "The Man Who Loved Lightning," have gone to Tony Daniel at Baen Books.

A forthcoming issue of Guitar magazine will review Greg Bauder’s book Generating Who Power For Fans: why the Who is the greatest band.

Dorothy Stott’s poem “Unfinished Portrait”,which received honourable mention in the Dr. William Henry Drummond Poetry Contest, appears in the contest anthology, The Spring Pulse Poetry Festival 2012. This year the contest attracted 170 poems from across Canada. Bernice Lever did 3 readings in Vancouver and New Westminster this summer, along with an interview on Co-op radio in July. The Bowen Island book launch of her tenth poetry book, Imagining Lives was held on August 19. Bernice’s recent acceptances include 'What the City Never Taught Me, in Island Living , the Planet Earth Poetry anthology from Leaf Publishing and the Rope Dancer anthology from TOPS, The Toronto Poetry Society. Bernice will be reading a poem at the Korean Poetry Night at Shadbolt Centre on September 13 (7 p.m.)
