Spoken INK readings at our new location

Join us at La Fontana Caffe, 101-3701 East Hastings in North Burnaby (NE corner of Boundary and Hastings) for Spoken INK.  Open mic sign-up is at 7:30 p.m., our featured guests read at 8:00 p.m.

May 18th Spoken INK guests are Marni Norwich and Don Simpson.

Marni Norwich is author of Wildflowers at my doorstep (Karma Press, 2008), winner of a 2009 Independent Publisher Book Award for poetry. She presents her work at events throughout Vancouver and has performed with the dance and musical ensemble, Bad Poetry. Marni works as writer/editor with her business, Inkcat Media ( www.inkcatmedia.com).

Don Simpson is retired from a working background in mechanical engineering and metal fabrication, so is now free to indulge his taste for more literary and artistic pursuits.  Don tells us that his prose "consists mostly of gallant, but often doomed, attempts at humour."  His verse tends towards the more traditional poetic forms but then, with a background like that, asks Don, what can you expect?

There are no specific themes this time for the open mics, so feel free to let your imagination run wild!  Spoken INK is presented by the Burnaby Writers' Society on the third Tuesday of each month (except July and August).
