Please join us for a special Spoken INK on Saturday, June 15th from 7-9pm at beautiful Deer Lake Gallery (6584 Deer Lake Avenue) to celebrate the works of artists Kathleen McGiveron and Fiona Tang (and their exhibition, Distant Tales), with a special Spoken INK evening of readings called Writing through Art.
Seven featured writers will share their poetry and prose inspired by the works of McGiveron and Tang, followed by an Open Mic for the audience to connect with the art.
Our featured writers are Mark MacKenzie, Kyle Hawk, Sheilagh MacDonald, Rose Padeft, Bill Arnott, Angela Rebrec and Cynthia Sharp. In the Spoken INK tradition, we encourage an interactive evening for artists and audience to foster an appreciation of the exhibition and words coming together for a magical effect. Admission is free!
Spoken INK is a reading series presented by the Burnaby Writers' Society on the third Tuesday of each month (except July and August). For more information, contact bwscafe@gmail.com
