February 2017 update


 PLEASE NOTE: The February 9 meeting is postponed because of today's bad road conditions. Instead, we'll be meeting on Wednesday, March 15, 7:15 to 8:30 p.m., at the Robert Prittie Metrotown Library.


POSTPONED: Our February meeting/critique workshop will be happening at the  Robert Prittie Metrotown Library on Thursday February 9 from 7-8:30 p.m. (Please check at the front desk for the room number.)

The library is located just west of Metrotown skytrain station. Take the Millennium or Expo line, or take the 19, 49, 106, 110, 116, 129, 130, 144, 430, C6 or C7 bus. Parking is available underground. Enter the parking garage off Kingsborough Street.


Drop-in visitors are welcome as always. Feel free to bring work for critiquing. (Up to about ten minutes of reading time, and a few extra copies to share.)  info@bws.ca

Our February Spoken INK Special Guests: Tuesday, February 21, 8 p.m.

Alan Hill:  Alan’s work has appeared in over forty literary magazines in Canada, USA and the UK; including Canadian Literature, Event, Antigonish Review, CV2, Cascadia Review, Denver Review, Switchback, Impressment Gang, Vancouver Review, Word Works (Federation of BC Writers), Sub- terrain, Poetry is Dead, Windsor Review (upcoming) and many others. He also had poetry in the 2007 Rocksalt Anthology –the first BC wide anthology of BC poets for thirty years.





Kyle McKillop is a master’s student in UBC’s Optional-Residency Creative Writing program and also teaches high school English in Surrey. The host of the 2014 Poetry in the Park series and organizer for 2015, Kyle is a Past President of Royal City Literary Arts Society. He has been published in a number of anthologies, online journals, and print periodicals and can be found online at.kylemckillop.wordpress.com.
