March 19 Spoken INK: featuring Fran Bourassa

Fran Bourassa is a freelance writer/poet and contributing writer to numerous anthologies, including Breaking the Surface (Sono Nis), the North Shore Writers Association Millennium Anthology, Shore Lines, and most recently, the Pacific Poetry Anthology (Ooligan Press, 2013) and Force Field – 77 BC Poets edited by Susan Musgrave. Her poem “Burrard Inlet” is part of the art work for the new North Vancouver Public Library.Fran has won numerous writing contests, including at the Vancouver International Writers Festival and the North Shore Writers Festival. She has been awarded a scholarship to Banff Wired Writing Studio and was twice a delegate to the BC Festival of the Arts. She has been a finalist in the Vancouver Poetry Slam and a feature at many venues, including Vancouver’s Word on the Street.

Fran gives writing workshops for the school district and Vancouver Community College and hosts Word Whips, a monthly writing series. Fran lives in West Vancouver. Follow her: thewindingroad.posterous.com
