Burnaby Arts Council hosts literary arts week

The Burnaby Arts Council will host the first Lower Mainland area exhibition of "A Book Arts Mosaic" as part of its Culture Days activities, which this year focus on the Literary Arts. The exhibition, which runs from  September 18 to October 3rd, features 26 works by 33 Canadian book artists from across Canada.

On Saturday September 18 at the opening reception from 1 to 4 p.m. there will be a book sale and Meet the Authors event showcasing the work of Burnaby Writers' Society members Linda DeMeulemeester, Elizabeth Elwood, Julie Ferguson, Gordon Mumford, Bernice Lever, Eileen Kernaghan, Casey June Wolf, Debra Purdy Kong and Diane Tucker.   

On Saturday September 25 at 1 p.m. the council will host the launch of two historical thrillers, The Queen's Sword and The Queen's Jewels, a new series set in Elizabethan England,  by Coquitlam BWS member David Glyn-Jones writing as David Glenn.

On Sunday September 26 from 1 to 4 p.m. Sally Reesman will present a workshop on creating your own
chapbook. Registration is required for the workshop)
